The 2016 Oscars
Throughout history popular things have come and gone fast. Every year brings something new. So let’s start with the 2016 Oscars. The 2016 Oscars brought up some major controversy with it being #oscarssowhite. All 20 nominees in the acting category were all white, which again for the second year in a row brought backlash on social media. But on a better note, Leonardo DiCaprio got his first Oscar for Best Actor in the 2015 movie the Revenant.
Stranger Things
The Netflix original series Stranger Things became a hit show became ranked third in the ratings right underneath Fuller House and Orange is the New Black. Stranger Things is a thriller type show that is based on 4 kids and when one of them go missing the 3 boys and the missing boy’s mom, brother and the sheriff have to contact scary things to get the boy back. This show is 8 episodes long split into 2 seasons. The Stranger Things 2 will be coming out by Halloween 2017.
Closer- Chainsmokers ft. Halsey
The song Closer by the Chainsmokers and Halsey became a hit song and very catchy just by hearing it once. the song was 12 weeks straight on top of the billboards and did not leave first place. It was nominated for the best pop/duo award on the Grammy’s 2017. Closer is the one song that you will never be able to get out of your head! It’s also the one song that made everyone want the rover they kept talking about.
